FAQ

Find answers to frequently asked questions about stocubo, our processes, as well as extra information about our different shelf types.
How long is the delivery time?

All pieces produced by stocubo requires high-quality work, and many different elements in the production process, all carried out in a small space. Due to our low storage capacity and our pledge to be as sustainable as possible, we only produce on an order-by-order basis. Therefore the delivery time depends on our order situation. You can see the current delivery times here. However, we ship packages, color samples and accessories immediately.

Large orders are shipped by freight forwarding, smaller orders are delivered by DHL or within Berlin by Cosmo Kurier. We will inform you by e-mail as soon as your order is ready for shipment, so that you can prepare for the delivery. If you travel within the regular delivery time, we can plan the shipment so you will be at home to receive it.

Can I pick up my order myself?

You are welcome to pick up your Cubes at our premises at Gottschedstraße 4, Halle 3 in 13357 Berlin (on the premises of ExRotaprint). However, as we have to produce each order first, please call our customer service at (030) 232 56 01 80 to make an appointment for pickup.

During our opening hours (Monday to Friday 9:00-18:00) you are welcome to visit us at any time in our showroom at Exerzierstraße 14 in 13357 Berlin. A telephone appointment is not necessary. We're happy to advise you and help you plan your stocubo system as best we can!

Is delivery to a package station possible?

Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to a package station. Smaller orders (up to approx. 10 Cubes) are delivered in packages the size of a moving box by DHL Go Green and have a weight of approx. 10-15 kg. The capacity of a box in package stations is not large enough for packages of this size.

Where to deliver?

We deliver within Europe to the following countries: Germany, Austria, Benelux, France, Poland, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Norway. If you would like us to deliver to another country, we will be happy to determine the applicable shipping price and then contact you. Unfortunately, deliveries outside Europe are not possible.

What to consider for delivery to Switzerland?

For deliveries to Switzerland the German VAT of 19% will not be charged. We take over the costs for customs clearance on the German side for you. On the Swiss side, there are also additional costs for the import clearance and further handling fees, which will be charged to you together with the Swiss sales tax by the delivery service on the Swiss side. These additional costs depend on the size of the order and are usually between 50 and 100 CHF.

How can I return my order?

You can cancel the purchase contract within 100 days after receiving the goods. Please send us a short email to [email protected] including your order number, whereby we will immediately inform you about the further necessary steps by email. In the case of a return, we will of course pay for the shipping costs. Please do not send the goods back to us without prior agreement, as we can organize the collection from you via our logistics partners.

What to do if the goods are damaged?

We check all products and packaging before shipment to make sure they are in perfect condition. If the goods are damaged in transit, we will of course replace this immediately at no cost to you.

If goods are delivered with obvious transport damage, please report this damage immediately to the DHL delivery person or the carrier driver and please have them noted on the delivery certificate from the delivery service. Afterwards we ask you to inform us as soon as possible by phone at (030) 232 56 01 80 or by e-mail to [email protected] .

If you have failed to complain about transport damage immediately to the delivery service or to us, this will of course have no effect on your statutory warranty rights. However, you can help us to assert our own claims against the transport company.

Damage report for delivery with DHL?

In case of delivery with DHL, please eporth defects immediately to the DHL delivery person. To file a claim with us, please take photos of the damaged Cubes and, if applicable, the packaging and contact us as soon as possible by phone at (030) 232 56 01 80 or by e-mail at [email protected]. We will replace the damaged modules as soon as possible.

Damage report upon delivery by the forwarding agent?

If damage to the packaging is already visible when the goods are delivered by the forwarding agent, please notify the supplier of this and only accept delivery if it is noted on the forwarding agent's delivery bill that the packaging externally indicates damage. If you notice damage to the packaging, please take a photo of the entire pallet showing the damage and note on the freight bill that the packaging is damaged. You can then accept the modules.

If it turns out when you unpack your delivery that the goods themselves are not damaged after all, this is great news! If the goods are damaged, please contact us as soon as possible at (030) 232 56 01 80 or by e-mail to [email protected] and we will discuss how to proceed. Thank you very much!

How does the order work?

You will receive an automatic order confirmation from us by e-mail directly after placing your order. Your order will be checked for plausibility and if there are any discrepancies, we will provide appropriate information. After receipt of payment (depending on the payment method within a few days) we will contact you by e-mail with all details regarding the delivery. If this does not happen, please contact us by e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at (030) 232 56 01 80.

As soon as we have received your payment, we will include your order in our production planning. We will contact you as soon as your order has been handed over to the transport company.

Is stocubo also available in stores?

You can come and see our Cubes in the stocubo showroom in Berlin-Wedding. We're happy to advise you on site about individual solutions and the countless possible combinations of our systems. We have deliberately decided to go in favor of direct sales to avoid the costs of dealer distribution with high dealer margins, therefore we're able to offer you the best price-performance ratio.

How is a stocubo assembled?

Very simple: Unpack, stack, clamp(s) on! Detailed instructions are available here.

How do I set up my stocubo if the ground is uneven?

You can use our base plates with the adjustable feet: simply place the base plates next to each other, align them with a spirit level and place the modules on the plates. Instructions with pictures are available here.

Why do I need connecting clamps?

stocubo also stands without clamps, but when you use the clamps, the cubes are firmly connected to each other. However, when the shelf is set up correctly, the clamps are not always absolutely necessary. However, the more complex the configuration, the more brackets you should use!

When do I need anti-slip pads?

Our anti-slip pads are made of a special double-sided adhesive foil and are used as an addition to our modules or desk tops on other modules. We particularly recommend these for modules with doors or drawers that are used on a regular basis. The connecting clips may slip slightly over time as doors and drawers are opened and closed. Thanks to the additional adhesion of the anti-slip pads, the cubes won't move back even a millimeter, even under heavy load.

How high can I stack my stocubo?

Your only limitation is how high your ceilings are. But not by us! You can stack the Cubes as much as you'd like, but you need to keep in mind the laws of gravity... With any Cubes over 2.5 meters, they should be partially attached to the wall with a small angle bracket from the hardware store.

Caution: Our wall brackets, on the other hand, are not suitable as anti-tippers, as they cannot be combined with stacking shelves.

Can I mount stocubo on the wall?

Yes! All modules are also suitable as wall shelves. We have developed an invisible and very easy to attach wall suspension. The Cubes can be hung on the long and short sides as a rail system. Special case: Our 2:1 module is only suitable as a wall shelf at low load because of the long, cantilevered shelves.

In general, we recommend only attaching individual Cubes to the wall. To hang a complete shelf on the wall, all elements need to be perfectly aligned and mounted with a spirit level and screws - which, depending on the condition of the wall, can be a bit of a challenge even for the most passionate craftsmen.

Caution: However, our wall hangers are not suitable for use as anti-tip devices in conjunction with stacking shelves. High stacked shelves can be also fixed to the wall as an anti-tipper with an L-bracket from the DIY store - but this is only necessary in specific cases, for example with mid-depths, particularly high shelves or particularly sloping floors.

How heavy can I fill hanging Cubes?

The maximum load for wall suspensions depends on the module: you can fill Cubes with mid depth (ideal for e.g. bookshelves or CD shelves) with books or CDs/DVDs. For full depth shelving modules, we assume a maximum load of 12 kg per module. The 2:1 module can only support a maximum load of 5 kg due to its long, unsupported shelves.

What materials are used at stocubo?

We produce our shelving modules from MDF. The wood of our panels is produced according to high ecological and social standards. The MDF panels are made of PEFC certified wood, which comes from sustainable forestry. This is the only way we can produce to our high standards which are expected at stocubo. The coating is a melamine resin coating, which makes our stocubos particularly durable and robust. We use multiplex for individual products, such as our desk tops.

What is MDF?

MDF is a wood product, which means Medium Density Fiberboard. A homogeneous material is produced by pressed defibered softwood. This board material can be processed with precision, and is ideal for stocubo. You can find out more about MDF on Wikipedia.
