We love our MDF and want to process as much of it as possible. That’s why we’ve been working hard on a completely new system to make use of even the last MDF offcuts. The result is the new click-in shelf, a system as minimalist as the materials it’s made from.

Every day, we process stacks of panels into individual parts for our modules. Each time, we’re left with strips too narrow for regular cubes, only suitable for slide-in boxes and half-depth units. Unfortunately, we sell far fewer of these than the number of strips we produce. Now, we have the solution: a clever click-in system tailored precisely to the dimensions of these offcuts, with rails and shelves that fit together perfectly. No tools, no waste.
The new click-in system
Each click-in shelf consists of vertical uprights into which horizontal shelves are slid and securely locked by hand. All shelving units are stabilized with stainless steel braces that are screwed in from the back.
The click-in shelving units are available in two heights and three widths each. At 19 cm deep, the click-in shelving units are narrower than our modular shelves making them perfect for books, media, decor, and narrow spaces or corners.

True to our geometric system, the click-in shelves also build on each other in their dimensions. The units are each 30 cm wide and 30 cm, 25 cm, and 20 cm high. The tall click-in shelf features twice as many of these units.

How are the click-in shelves delivered?
Depending on the size, the new click-in shelves are shipped in one or two packages via DHL GoGreen Plus. Each package contains the uprights and shelves, along with two or four stainless steel support braces and the matching sleeve screws for added stability. That's everything you need for assembly. For the taller click-in shelf models, two wall brackets with matching screws are also included if you prefer to secure the shelving unit to the wall.
How are the click-in shelves assembled?
Like all modular shelving units from stocubo, the new click-in shelf can be assembled without any tools and in just a few simple steps. First, place the uprights on the floor, stacked one on top of the other. Next, slide a horizontal shelf through all the side frames, then position each frame in the shelf's cut-outs and press it firmly into place. After that, slide the remaining shelves through the openings and secure them in the same way. Once everything is in place, attach the stainless steel braces to the back using the screws provided, and your click-in shelf is ready to use.
Are the snap-together shelving units sturdy?
Every click-in shelf is made from high-quality PEFC-certified MDF. The click-in system is designed so that the shelves fit securely into the uprights, creating a stable structure. For additional rigidity, every click-in shelf is reinforced at the back with stainless steel braces, resulting in a sturdy wall shelving unit. To help prevent tipping, the taller models also come with two wall brackets and matching screws, allowing you to secure the click-in shelf safely to the wall.
What are the click-in shelving units suitable for?
Each shelf features units in three different heights and a depth of 19 cm, making the click-in shelf ideal for books, DVDs, storage boxes, decorative objects, and collections of all kinds. It also works perfectly as a bedside table, next to a sofa, or as a storage solution in the hallway. The steckregal 3:2, 3:3, and 3:4 models are 92 cm tall—about the height of a sideboard. The 6:2, 6:3, and 6:4 click-in shelves are 1.70 m tall, making them ideal as wall shelves for books in the living room, in narrow corners, or even in a children’s room.
Are the snap-together shelves sustainable?
Yes, sustainability is built in on multiple levels. The new click-in shelves are made entirely from MDF offcuts generated daily in our production process, which previously had to be largely disposed of. Through a circular economy approach, this production waste is now transformed into an entirely new, fully functional product. The MDF itself is PEFC-certified, sourced from sustainable European forests, and processed locally at our facility. This ensures short supply chains and high social standards across the entire production process.
