The modular shelving system for your children's room
When it comes to furnishing a child's room with some foresight, our shelving system is ideal, because it grows with the years that go by - cube by cube. Babies may need nothing more than a diaper shelf, while toddlers need plenty of storage space for toys and books. In the teenage years, from experience, we know even more space is needed! With stocubo you stay flexible.
One of the most important aspects when buying shelves for children is safety, because the shelves have to withstand a lot. All our shelves are characterized by an above-average breaking and bending strength. As we manufacture stocubo shelves from PEFC-certified material, they are particularly robust, stable and resilient. What's more, we produce all cubes locally in Berlin. This makes the entire manufacturing process particularly low in creating emissions. Good for the environment and the next generation.

Frequently asked questions about our children's shelves
What characterises the furniture from stocubo that grows with you?
The growing furniture from stocubo is modular and flexible, so that it can adapt to the changing needs of children. From the changing table to the teenager's room, they accompany children through different phases of their lives. With just a few simple steps and a little creativity, the children's room can be redesigned again and again.
How to build a stocubo shelf?
It works as follows: align the base plates with the spirit level, stack the individual modules together as desired and fix them with the connecting clips. Then your individual furniture for the children's room is ready! It really is as easy as it sounds. You can find more info on assembly in our information on shelf assembly.
Are the Cubes suitable for sitting?
Our cubes can be used as seating up to the size of a 1:1 without any problems. The wider 2:1 modules are not suitable for sitting due to their long, self-supporting bases, as these would otherwise bend. For a bench seat, we recommend placing the individual modules on one or more base plates and clamping them well on all sides. Additional Anti-Slip-Pads may also be recommended to prevent the modules from shifting due to frequent movement. Unfortunately, 2:1 plates on wheels are not suitable as a bench, as they could also bend due to the weight.
Do I have to anchor the shelf in the wall?
As a rule, this is not necessary for a floor-standing shelf. We recommend fixing the cubes with standard L-brackets from the hardware store in the case of uneven floors or particularly high wall shelves. With our wall suspension, individual cubes can also be attached directly to the wall as a free-hanging piece. Unlike the L-brackets, however, our wall mounts are not suitable as anti-tippers, as they cannot be combined with stacking shelves.
Are the shelves from stocubo safe?
The shelves are stable and made of robust materials. For added safety, additional connecting clips and anti-slip pads can be used to prevent the modules from slipping under heavy loads. The furniture is very low in harmful substances, which is particularly important in children's rooms.
What should I bear in mind when building shelves in the children's room?
For additional safety in the children's room, high or narrow shelves should be attached to the wall with L-brackets. It is also advisable to use anti-slip pads to prevent the modules from slipping. These pads are easy to attach and provide additional support.
As this is a modular and flexible system, the shelves should of course not be used as a climbing wall.
What boxes are there for storage?
We offer the slide-in units for our children's shelves in three different sizes: for 1:1, 1:2 and 2:3 modules. The following applies to all boxes: they can be easily removed and inserted into all modules. The large 1:1 slide-in boxes have additional grip holes on the sides, so that they can be easily removed for play time, even when fully loaded, and can be cleared up again later. All slide-ins are available in our five pastel colors, or plain white! These can also be added later.
In which colors are the children's shelves available?
The main elements of our shelving systems are always white, and the doors and drawers come in great stocubo colors - perfect for a child's room. You can choose between Pistachio Green, Denim Blue, Cashmere Gray, Flamingo Pink, Citrus Yellow, and Eucalyptus Green. Of course, you can always go for the classic white or black. In the online configurator you can combine the colors to your heart's content.
Are the cubes suitable as bookshelves?
Whether it's for coloring books, picture books or the first adventure novels, the cubes offer space for every format. For little ones, they can even serve as a bookshelf and craft table at the same time. There are so many ways to get creative here! Thanks to the modular design, the bookshelves from stocubo can also grow to accommodate the reading enthusiasm of your children.
How do I maintain the furniture?
The surfaces can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth or glass cleaner. Before applying anti-slip pads, the surfaces should be dry and dust-free to ensure adhesion.
